Jessica Harrington, President
Throughout the nonprofit universe, Jess is known as one of the industry’s most dynamic, exciting fundraisers. She’s admired for her ability to pull truth from raw data, for her determination to seize every challenge as an opportunity, and for her bedrock belief that “best practices” are only the launching point for the results-boosting advances she creates. Jessica’s secret? Her razor-sharp analytical exterior hides a bleeding heart; she’s motivated by the desire to leave a better world for her children. Her list of current and former clients is long and glowing; her successes in the field are legendary.

Tracy Lea, Vice President
Tracy is undeniably our people person. With an impressive fundraising resume, she builds bridges wherever she goes. That ensures our clients (and our agency) have access to the best resources – be they vendors, partners, services, or information. A voracious consumer of news, business philosophies, and social thought, Tracy guides us beyond our comfort zone in the ongoing quest for smart strategies and inspiration. Among the many expressions of her personal activism, Tracy serves as chair for the Special Olympic International’s Cycling Committee.

Cheryl B. Keedy, Creative Director
Cheryl comes to The Harrington Agency after spending over twenty years at Production Solutions. During her tenure she grew her role from Project Manager to Director to finally creating and filling the role of Innovation Director. Seeing the ever-increasing speed of innovation Cheryl believed it was imperative Production Solutions have a leadership position and team dedicated to keeping the firm on the cutting edge of direct marketing, filtering out the unworkable and allowing Production Solutions clients to benefit from her strategic insights. Industry-wide she is regarded as a thought leader capable of turning the abstract into the concrete. And her fidelity to executing projects efficiently and effectively, without losing the concept’s vision, truly sets her apart.

Adam Ruff, Chief Digital Officer
The road Adam traveled to become a thought leader in digital fundraising was hardly direct, but then again neither is the field. However, after a career that spans running national political campaigns, practicing law, and even selling everything from speakers to laptops at Circuit City, he feels fully prepared to handle whatever comes down the pipe. But it wasn't until his tenure at Blue State Digital where he began working with nonprofits that he found his true calling - raising money for causes he deeply believes in.
Adam credits his success in digital to the passion he cultivated in politics, and the deep intellectual curiosity law school fostered in him. These traits serve him well in a field that is constantly in motion. "Digital makes you want it. There's no halfway when it comes to staying at the top of the game."
From the work he's produced so far and the successes he's provided to our clients, we are sure Adam will be at the forefront of digital leadership for a very long time.

Bob Fechter, Chief Operating Officer
Bob is a Rembrandt of analysis. Most of us see spreadsheets and pivot tables as a way to organize data; Bob sees the story portrayed within the meticulous columns. He reads results like a thriller, always eager to separate the clues from the red herrings. His mission is to uncover the verifiable truths that guide strategy so plans are based not on instinct but on measurable fact. With a background in information technology, Bob is drawn to new and changing processes. He constantly assesses “the next big thing” to discover whether it’s hype or a useful tool for our clients.

Andrew Magnuson, Director, Constituent Experience
With a talent for maintaining calm during a storm, Andrew also has a reputation for being as good-natured and fun to work with as he is exceptionally talented with technology. He got his start in the dot-com world at Convio, where he developed a keen interest in the intersection of technology and the nonprofit fundraising experience. Since then, Andrew has become known as a strategic leader that can focus on the data to meet goals, while deftly sorting through both emerging and existing technology to help nonprofits provide a superior experience for donors, raise more money, and make their lives easier. He’s also spent time on both the agency and client sides. Most recently, Andrew ran the online fundraising program for the American Heart Association.
A veteran of digital strategy and fundraising, the Texas charm doesn’t hurt in getting everyone to work together and focus on the business of making the world a better place, one data-driven strategy at a time.

Pia Payne, Content Strategy Director
Ask anyone in the fundraising industry that knows Pia, and they all use the same words to describe her: creative, energetic, passionate, professional, and great shoes. Over the years, Pia has worked in many aspects of fundraising – from production to data to creative. Recently, she is best known for putting NonProfit PRO magazine on everyone’s radar, as she enthusiastically led the rebrand and created its new voice, including overseeing all the content and writing the editorial calendar, as well as her monthly Publisher’s Note. And if you picked up one of her issues, you know that Pia is also a very talented writer. She instinctively understands the tone and needs of any given project – and can find just the right words to explain it. Combine her writing chops with years of well-rounded fundraising experience, and we’ve luckily found our Content Strategist and Editorial Director.

Robert Fisher, Client Services Manager
Every once in a while, you come across a star in the making. Ours is named Robert – a young man capable of juggling many balls at once while paying attention to details and absorbing knowledge like a sponge. Robert cut his teeth in the Obama for America campaign where he focused on increasing and promoting youth participation. One day, Robert will rule the planet (and it will be a good day for us all) – but today he’s making sure our clients are always informed, always get their questions answered, always know exactly where their programs stand. Don’t try to steal our boy genius; we’re keeping him!

Nicola Leckie, Client Services Manager
Over the past 20 years, Nicola has worked on both the client and agency side for consumer brands like Coca-Cola and Anheuser-Busch and has spent seven years in the fundraising industry. Her most notable nonprofit role was with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology where she served as the Director or Digital Fundraising. At the Lab, Nicola led lead generation, member acquisition and digital fundraising initiatives that increased the Lab’s email file to nearly 700,000 active online constituents and tripled the Lab’s online fundraising revenue in just three years. The common thread through Nicola’s career has been a keen interest in constituent behavior and passion to drive results by applying analytics to creative marketing initiatives. Nicola is thrilled to be back in the nonprofit world.

Kathy Harrington, Production Manager
Cost-savings through strategic and efficient package formatting -- Kathy makes it look easy. From managing massive commercial package print runs to helping the USO grow their donor file from 300,000 to 2.5MM with annual mailings of over 40 million, Kathy’s ability to find savings while juggling multiple timelines is extraordinary. Remember BMG Music Club and how much fun it was to get the mailer with those little stamps you used to select your CD choices? Kathy created one of those formats. We’re still trying to decide which awful CDs from the 1990’s we want to give back to her.

Rusty Varney, Production Manager
The Harrington Agency lured Rusty into employment by telling her we needed someone “bossy and charming.” Rusty worked with Jessica years ago at Craver Mathews Smith (the hub of the fundraising wheel); she now returns to the direct marketing world after a hugely successful two-daughter hiatus. Editor, proof-reader, scheduler, organizer par excellence, Rusty makes the trains run on time and has the uncanny ability to make everyone smile even as we obediently obey. She has rapidly become the power behind all these Harrington Agency thrones.

Wendy Davis, Writer
Wendy’s path to copywriting began years ago, when the small non-profit she worked for needed a writer. She took on the mantle and has been pecking away at the keyboard ever since. Over those past 16 years, Wendy has written for both the public and nonprofit space. In addition to creating story-centered copy, she spends her time writing fiction and reading like her life depends on it. She is thrilled to be at the Harrington Agency, where she knows that the work matters and is truly helping people.
Ray Harris, Data Strategist
Ray has spent his career specializing in bridging the worlds of information technology and business. He has worked as a business analyst in a variety of fields ranging from retail to the human resources sector. In 2013 he saw the gap in the amount of data an organization collected and their ability to use it. He began developing a tool kit that would allow any business to leverage their data in the most effective way possible. Specializing in data management, visualized analytics and dashboard design, Ray makes it possible for all businesses to effectively make decisions based on their data. By combining a wide variety of industry experience with accredited certifications, Ray can deliver a tailored solution to every customer regardless of their current data landscape.

Kenny Foord, Head Digital Designer
Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Kenny has been creating all forms of digital design, from web design to mobile icon design, for over half a decade. With an eye on the latest trends, Kenny hones in on producing innovative styles and aesthetics, while never forgetting that UX is always the guiding principle of any work. Kenny is now bridging the gap between the digital world and the print world, bringing a new perspective that clients are finding invaluable as they come to see that a multichannel campaign requires a team that can strategize, write, and design in both mediums.
When not working, you can find him skateboarding along the coast, listening to music and getting lost in his own world, dreaming of life as a 'digital nomad'.

IN MEMORIAM - Marie Dullea Prentice
Marie, although new to the team was not new to the industry or to us. We'd known Marie from the incredible work she had done prior to working with us, and, more importantly, from her kind heart and strong belief in the work we are privileged to do every day. We will, like so many others, miss her deeply. She will always be a part of the THA family.
